Privacy Policy

The short version

Every stat you record stays on your device. Player names, games, scores, and every number you tap in are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. They are not uploaded to us, they are not stored on a server, and we cannot see them. There is no account to create, no login, and no advertising in this app.

Two outside services receive limited technical information — Google Firebase (app usage and crash reports) and RevenueCat (purchase records). Neither of them ever receives a player’s name, a game, or a single stat. You can turn off usage data collection at any time in Settings → Privacy → Share Anonymous Usage Data.

This Privacy Policy explains how Samuel Smith ("we", "us", or "our"), operating as Smith Peaks Creations, handles information in The Sport Pulse mobile application (the "App"). Please read it carefully.

What Stays on Your Device

All of the following is stored only on your device, and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else:

  • Player profiles — names, jersey numbers, positions, and teams
  • Games — titles, dates, opponents, locations, and descriptions
  • Every stat you record — points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, turnovers, fouls, and all shooting numbers
  • Your season averages, trends, and charts, which are calculated on your device from the above

If you delete the App, this data is deleted with it. We have no copy and cannot recover it for you. The CSV export in Settings exists so that you can keep your own backup — it is your data, the export is free and unrestricted, and it always will be.

What Is Collected, and by Whom

Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics)

We use Google’s Firebase to understand which features people use and to find out when the App crashes.

What Firebase receives:

  • Anonymous usage events — for example, that someone tapped the "Want More Sports Options?" button, and which sport they picked
  • Device and app information — device model, operating system version, app version, language, and general region
  • An app-instance identifier, which is a random ID for this installation of the App. It is not your Apple Account, your name, your email address, or your advertising identifier.
  • Crash reports, including the technical state of the App at the moment it crashed

What Firebase never receives: a player’s name, a game title, an opponent, a location, or any stat you have recorded. Analytics events record that a button was tapped. They never record about whom. This distinction matters for an app that parents use to track their children, so we state it plainly rather than burying it: no analytics event carries player data.

Google’s handling of this information is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and by how Google uses data from apps that use its services.

Opting out. Turn off Settings → Privacy → Share Anonymous Usage Data and the App stops sending usage events and crash reports entirely. The App works exactly the same either way.

RevenueCat (purchases)

We use RevenueCat to manage the in-app purchase for additional player profiles, and to restore purchases when you reinstall the App or move to a new device.

What RevenueCat receives: a record of your purchase, an anonymous app-user identifier that RevenueCat generates, and basic device and app information needed to validate the purchase with Apple.

What RevenueCat never receives: your name, your email address, your payment details, or any of your stat data.

RevenueCat’s handling of this information is governed by RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.

Apple

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card or your Apple Account credentials. Apple’s handling of that transaction is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Diagnostics provided by Apple

iOS includes a system-level setting that lets you share diagnostic and usage information with the developers of the apps you use. If you have enabled that setting on your device, Apple may make aggregated crash logs and usage statistics available to us through Apple’s developer tools. This information is collected by Apple rather than by the App, is provided to us in aggregate, and is not linked to your identity. You can turn it off at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell your data. There is nothing to sell.
  • We do not share your data with data brokers or advertisers.
  • We do not show advertising in the App.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites. The App does not use the Advertising Identifier and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, because it does not track.
  • We do not require an account, an email address, or any sign-in.

Children’s Privacy

The Sport Pulse is designed to be used by athletes, parents, and coaches, including parents tracking a child’s games.

Nothing that identifies a child is transmitted anywhere. A child’s name, jersey number, team, and every stat recorded about them stay on the device. No analytics event carries player data of any kind, so it is not possible for a child’s name or performance to reach us, Google, or RevenueCat through this App.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the App provides no way for a child to submit personal information to us. There is no account, no profile upload, no messaging, no social feature, and no user-generated content that leaves the device.

If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because your stat data lives only on your device, you are in full control of it. You can delete individual players, games, and stat records from within the App at any time. Deleting the App from your device permanently removes all of the data it stored. We hold no copy of it and therefore have nothing to delete on our end.

If your device is backed up through iCloud Backup or an encrypted computer backup, the App’s data may be included in that backup. Those backups are managed by Apple and by you, not by us.

Firebase and RevenueCat retain the limited technical information described above under their own retention schedules, set out in their privacy policies linked above.

Security

Your information is protected by the security of your device. Data stored by the App resides in the App’s sandboxed storage, which iOS isolates from other apps, and is protected by your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID along with the device’s built-in encryption. We recommend keeping a passcode enabled and keeping iOS up to date.

Your Choices and Rights

  • Turn off usage data: Settings → Privacy → Share Anonymous Usage Data.
  • Export your data: Settings → Export Data produces a CSV of every completed game. This is free and unrestricted.
  • Delete your data: deleting the App removes all of it from your device.
  • Ask us anything: if you have a question about your data, or want to request deletion of anything we might hold, contact us below.

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to know whether it is sold or shared. Because the App stores your data on your own device and transmits no personally identifying information to us, we generally hold nothing to disclose, correct, delete, or transfer — but write to us and we will help. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA, and we have never done so.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and believe your privacy rights have been infringed, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if the App gains new features or changes which services it uses. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before the corresponding feature is released, and noted in the App’s release notes. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Who We Are

The Sport Pulse is published by Samuel Smith, an independent developer based in Utah, United States, operating under the name Smith Peaks Creations. For the purposes of the GDPR and similar privacy laws, Samuel Smith is the data controller responsible for the App.
